‘Planat’ Best Wheeler App Yet?

By Carlson, Tiffany; New Mobility,
Publication Date: May 2012

Product review features a user generated accessibility application and website. Planat.com is produced by the Rick Hansen Foundation, a Canadian disability organization. The free app works on a personal computer, iPad, iPhone, and devices using Android 2.2 or above. The application offers location information and reviews of several types of venues such as restaurants, accommodations, and retail stores, including mobility, sight, and hearing accessibility ratings ranging from 1 to 5 stars. The reviewer found the planat.com site easy to navigate and notes that an embedded Google map on the main page makes it easy for visitors to input their exact location. The reviewer also emphasizes that the accuracy of the information is dependent on the users that submit the ratings.
