Device is activated when the patient has wandered beyond specific limits. Easily installed in home, the console is connected to the telephone line and plugged into wall outlet. Backup battery to ensure operation during power outages. Unit is easily transported and can be installed in alternate locations. Can be used as a Personal Emergency Response System by depressing the "Help" button located on the front panel of the console. The Response Center provides 24 hour monitoring. Features; Home/Monitor/Away mode selections; alert reset button; toll free alert dialing; low battery alarm. The small transmitter, worn by the patient emits a signal to the home unit. If the patient wanders beyond a preset range, the home unit will dial the Response Center. The home unit will provide both an audible and visual indication to the caregiver that alert has been sent. A handheld transmitter signal is available to assist the caregiver in locating the patient. In "Home" mode the unit waits for loss of signal from patient' s transmitter (this happens if patient goes beyond certain range or tries to remove transmitter). In "Monitor" mode, unit provides audible tone in synchronization with receipt of each signal sent by transmitter, in addition to the "Home" features. The "Away" mode places the home unit in standby thereby eliminating an alert when the caregiver and patient have left the area.
