(Verified 04/2008) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Basic Sign Language for Children is a sign language training program designed to teach American Sign Language to children. The video tape displays a split screen on the television with one side showing a picture of the object/action/word, and the other side showing a person demonstrating it. Each sign is presented twice, allowing time in between for actual practicing of the sign. There is also a test section that follows each category in order to assess and further stress the vocabulary items presented. There are three parts available. Part 1 is vocabulary that deals with animals, prepositions and objects. Part 2 shows signs for clothes, colors, commands, social words, snacks and utensils. Paart 3 is people, action verbs and opposites. Each video tape is thirty minutes long.
