--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 08/2008) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Blow Toys and Whistles are oral motor planning activities designed for use with children with speech, breathing, and oral motor disabilities. Available models (each sold separately) include a Race Car toywith two cars that race each other and create a pleasing sound when blown into; a Car Roundabout whistle with a car that races around a track when the whistle is blown; and an Aircraft that is easy to blow and has a moving propeller and an airplane sound. The Space Ship requires stronger blowing with a whistling sound and moving spacemen and twirling radar to watch. The Train Track requires strong, consistent blowing into the whistle to create a train sound and cause the train to travel through the tunnel. The sound of another Train Whistle can be changed by sliding the train back and forth. The River Boat has a moving paddle wheel and sound with blowing. The base of the Water Bird is filled with water to creat the sounds of the song bird when blown. The Tucan is a slide whistle with moving eyes. The Singing Bird Whistle warbles and the mouth opens and closes as the whistle is blown while the tube is pulled out. Blowing into the Rooster causes him to crow while his feathers whirl. The Cat/Canary Whistle features a cat watching a caged canary as the canary bounces with the slightest movement. Any change in airflow changes the sound of this whistle. String rises from the smokestack of the Locomotive Whistle and the whistle sounds when blown. Toot Trains, available in sets of two small or two large whistles, are train-shaped whistles. Blowing into the back of the Whistle Lips causes a siren to wail. The Slide Whistle encourages prolonged exhalation as the notes change by sliding the insert in and out while blowing. Blowing the Crocodile Whistle causes the crocodile's head to pop out of the opening; sucking in causes the head to withdraw. The Siren Whistle encourages prolonged airflow with its realistic sound; sound is made while inhaling and exhaling. Blowing the Helicopter Whistle produces a sound and causes the rotor blades to twirl. Using the fingers to cover one or both of the holesof the 3-Tone Whistle causes this whistle to create up to three different tones.
