The Get Help Now Medical Alert System is an emergency alert system with monitoring service designed for use by seniors, individuals with mobility or balance disabilities, or individuals at risk for medical emergencies. Three models are available: The Basic system, the Best Buy system, and the Power House system. Each system includes a button transmitter pendant worn around the neck on the included beaded acrylic chain or on the wrist with the included wristband and a speaker box that plugs into a phone jack. The button pendant is waterproof and can be worn in the shower or tub. When the user needs help, he or she pushes the button and it contacts the speaker box, which then calls the manufacturer's 24-hour monitoring center. In about 40 seconds the monitoring center opens a Voice to Voice channel, allowing the user to speak with the center via the speaker and microphone on the speaker box. The range of the pendant is up to 200 feet from the speaker box in the Basic system, up to 250 feet in the Best Buy system, and up to 350 feet in the Power House system. Voice to voice communication works throughout a small apartment, condo, or house in the Basic system, a 2,500 to 3,000 square foot house in the Best Buy system, or a 3,000 to 4,000 square foot house in the Power House system. The Power House system is also fire resistant. POWER: The speaker box uses household current with rechargeable battery backup and the pendant uses a lithium-ion battery. DIMENSIONS (HxLxW): Pendant is 1 x 0.25 x 1 inch. WEIGHT: 0.5 ounce.
Notes: The manufacturer states that the Power House system is Underwriters' Laboratory listed. ** Service agreements are 3 months in length for the Best Buy and Power House systems and 6 months for the Basic system. Monthly charges are $34.95 per month for the Power House system, $29.95 per month for Best Buy system, and $24.95 per month for the Basic system.
