The Bulletin Board Communicator, model 8800, is a scanning communicator with a nurse call feature designed for use by individuals with motor and communication disabilities. Up to nine pre-labeled message boxes and a nurse call feature can be selected simply by illuminating an easy-to-read red LED indicator. The unit can be controlled by a variety of capability switches (not included) depending upon the user's capabilities. When the switch is activated, a light flashes sequentially in the nine frames; when the user user reaches the desired message, the switch is activated again to display the message. If sequencing is not possible, the unit has the capability to enable the user to advance the light one square at a time with each switch closure. If the bottom light is activated, a buzzer sounds for 15 seconds to summon assistance. In an institutional setting, if a nurse call cord is attached to the unit, the nurse call feature can be used to alert the nurses' station. Once the message is noted, the unit can be reset with the touch of a button. The unit comes with form-fitting labels and a sequential scanner speed control switch. For those who cannot comprehend words or symbols, the unit can be placed flat on a tabletop to enable an object representing the message to be placed on each square. POWER: Uses four double-A batteries (not included).
Notes: Shipping and handling charges are not included in the purchase price listed.
Price: 139.95.
