Picture of THRESHOLD IMT The Threshold IMT is a resistance breathing exerciser designed for use by individuals with respiratory disabilities. It provides consistent and specific pressure for inspiratory muscle strength and endurance training, regardless of how quickly or slowly the user breathes. The unit incorporates a flow-independent, one-way valve to ensure consistent resistance and features an adjustable specific pressure setting (in 2-centimeter H2O increments) to be set by a healthcare professional. When the user inhales through the unit, a spring-loaded valve provides a resistance that exercises respiratory muscles through conditioning. The unit provides effective therapy when held in any position, and it can be used with a mouthpiece or mask. The unit's main body is made of impact-resistant acrylic, with a hot-stamped, alcohol-resistant scale, and it has a polypropylene mouthpiece and nose clip. DIMENSIONS: 4.6 inches long; 1.6 inches in diameter. WEIGHT: 1.3 ounces.
