------- "DO IT YOURSELF" ENTRY ------- PURPOSE: Clutch assembly for operators who require a hand operated clutch. Modifies the clutch of an International 1206 tractor. Constructed of two pieces of flat bar stock bolted together at one end. The hand control is attached to a mounting bracket that is fastened to the side of the tractor. The hand grip is made of round bar stock bent in a "L" shape and welded to end of the hand lever. When the control is pulled backward the roller bearing pushes against the slightly bent piece of flat stock welded to the shank of the clutch. This pushes the clutch pedal down to disengage the clutch. A spring between the lever and mounting bracket helps return the control to its original position. The editor cautions on the safety of this system, noting that a strong weld on the shank of the foot pedal is critical. SKILLS REQUIRED:Metalworking. Assembly. Welding. AUTHOR:Field, W.E.
