The Challenger PP, model 5500, is a powered wheelchair designed for use by adults with lower extremity, mobility, or neurological disabilities or spinal cord injury. FRAME (HxLxW): 34 to 35 x 43 x 25 inches. The frame length without footrests is 31 inches. The turning radius with footrests is 19.5 inches. The one-piece polyester-coated power base frame is available in midnight blue and burgundy red; the seat frame is black. Front anti-tippers are included. CONTROLS: Integrated programmable Integra joystick controller. An optional programmer for the controller is available. FWD: Front-wheel drive with two direct drive right angle gear 0.5-horsepower motors. SEAT (LxW): 16 x 18 inches. The back height is 18 inches and a headrest is standard. The floor-to-seat height is 20 inches. A seat belt is standard. UPHOLSTERY: Black padded nylon upholstery. ARMRESTS: Swing-back padded armrests adjust to accommodate widths from 19 to 26 inches. CASTERS: 8 x 2 inch cast aluminum rear caster wheels with air foam tires. WHEELS: 14 x 3 inch cast aluminum front wheels with pneumatic tires and puncture-resistant tubes. FOOTRESTS: Front one-piece footplate. The rigging length is 17 to 19 inches. OPTIONS: IV rod attachment; rear mount shopping basket; tray; and oxygen tank holder. POWER: Uses two deep cycle U-1 batteries (not included) with a 3-amp, 24-volt internal charger. A 10-amp external charger and a direct battery charge harness are optional. SPEEDS: 4.8 miles per hour for a range of up tp 25 miles per charge. CAPACITY: 250 pounds. WEIGHT: 104 pounds.
