The Challenger PX, model 6500, is a rigid heavy- duty powered wheelchair designed for use by large adults with lower extremity, mobility, or neurological disabilities or spinal cord injury. FRAME (HxLxW): 40 to 46 x 46 x 26 inches. The length without the footplate is 34 inches. The turning radius with footrests is 20.25 inches. The rigid one-piece polyester-coated power base frame includes front anti-tippers and a power shock system. The seat frame is black and the base is available in midnight blue or burgundy red. CONTROLS: Integrated programmable Integra joystick controller. An optional programmer for the controller is available. FWD: Front-wheel drive with two 0.75-horsepower direct drive right angle gear motors. SEAT (LxW): 18 x 22 inches. The back height is 21 inches. An adjustable headrest is standard. The floor-to-seat height is 20 to 22 inches. UPHOLSTERY: Black or gray vinyl upholstery. ARMRESTS: Swing- back padded armrests are adjustable to accommodate widths 23 to 30 inches. BRAKES: Wheel locks are standard. CASTERS: 8 x 2 inch cast aluminum rear caster wheels with air foam tires. WHEELS: 14 x 3 inch cast aluminum front wheels with pneumatic tires and puncture-resistant tubes. FOOTRESTS: Front one-piece footplate. The rigging length is 17 to 19 inches. OPTIONS: IV rod attachment; rear mount shopping basket; tray; and oxygen tank holder. POWER: Uses two deep cycle U-1 batteries (not included). A 3-amp, 24-volt internal charger is standard. An external 10-amp charger and a direct battery charge harness are optional. SPEEDS: 4.5 miles per hour for a range of up to 27 miles per charge. CAPACITY: 360 pounds. WEIGHT: 115 pounds.
