Picture of BRIGANCE INVENTORY OF EARLY DEVELOPMENT–II (IED–II) The Brigance Inventory of Early Development–II (IED–II) is an early childhood assessment designed for use by children with developmental delays. The inventory serves as both a diagnostic instrument and a criterion-referenced classroom assessment. Features include normed and standardized options for key skill areas; social-emotional assessments; and functional skills sequences for assessing incremental gains. The inventory can be used to identify developmental age, pinpoint learning problems, monitor and document progress, and create instructional objectives. If more complex developmental delays are present, the Comprehensive Skills Sequences are helpful for tailoring in-depth assessment or instructional planning. COMPATIBILITY: Scoring software is for use on IBM or Macintosh computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Running in Windows, the standardized scoring conversion software requires Intel-compatible Pentium 90 or faster processor; Windows 98, 2000, or XP operating system; 32 megabytes (MB) RAM; and 20 MB free hard disk space. Running in Macintosh System 8.6 to 9.2, the software requires PowerPC 66 megaHertz (MHz) or faster processor; and 32 MB RAM. Running in Macintosh OSX, the software requires a G3 or faster processor and 128 MB RAM with 20 MB free hard disk space.

Notes: The manufacturer states that this assessment tool complies with Early Reading First, Reading First, I.D.E.A., and Head Start.
