--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 10/2007) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Welcome Light is a paging system designed to provide efficient wheelchair service for those who need assistance getting inside a building due to mobility disabilities. The system works with the simple push of a button housed on a small hand-held transmitter, similar to a garage door opener. The person needing the wheelchair pushes the button upon arriving at the parking lot. A radio signal is then sent to and activates the "Welcome Light" module, which is equipped with a strobe light and mounted on the building, visible to the patron. At the same time a signal is sent to the indoor service desk module, which indicates to personnel that a person is wiating in the parking area for wheelchair service. When a cut-off button at the desk module is pressed, the outdoor strobe light shuts off, indicating to the person waiting that someone is on the way.
