(Verified 08/2008) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Smoke Detector/Strobe Systems for the Hearing Impaired, models HB & HBI, is a smoke alarm designed to alert persons with hearing disabilities to smoke and fire. This system combines a hardwired smoke detector with a 120 candella strobe light. When activated, the strobe flashes at an irregular interval rate of 75 flashes per minute. The system also has the capacity to tandemly connect and activate other smoke alarms and strobe lights. The unit has a high gloss, baked enamel finish and includes an alarm pause silencer. POWER: Uses existing standard building wiring and power. Model HIB also includes 9-volt battery backup. DIMENSIONS: The base is 11 inches in diameter and two inches deep. COLOR: White.
