--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 3/1998). RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. ---- The Scent of Life is a smoke alarm designed to alert people who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, or deaf-blind. The device is activated by the sound emitted by a conventional smoke detector, or it can be connected directly to a central alarm system. When activated, the unit releases a pungent odor using an aerosol spray.
