(Verified 08/96) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The ADAPTA-Ramp is a portable ramp designed to convert short run stairs into gentle slopes for use by wheelchair users, persons with limited mobility, and strollers. The ramp has a patented, folding, scissors-style extension design. Its interconnecting, interlocking components adjust to fit existing buildings to provide safe and solid access. Support legs adjust to the stair tread height and lock into place to handle maximum loads. Hand railings are included for extra support for ambulatory individuals. Grooved tread plates with non-skid strips provide a safe walking surface. The outside expansion of the unit forms a curb to prevent wheelchairs from running off the ramp. The ramp can be used in public areas, institutions, or residences. MATERIALS: Constructed with high grade steel, extruded aluminum, and case hardened shoulder bolts with anti-vibration locking nuts and silicone impregnated nylon washers. DIMENSIONS: Inside width is 36 inches (clear); overall width is 41 inches. Slope is 1:12. Handrails are 34 inches high, 1.5 inches in diameter, and extend 12 inches beyond the ramp.
