--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 3/2013) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- ActionVoice is a communication board designed as a supplemental communicator for persons with speech disabilities. This unit has a high quality electronic natural voice sound and records voice or other sounds using a built-in microphone. Messages may be played back in any order using one of four methods: touching the built in keypad, activating up to four external direct selection switches, using single/dual switch scanning, or directly using the LightBoard (see separate entry). When combined with the LightBoard, optical pointing access may be used. The unit also has two built-in switch closure outputs to give the user direct control of appliance controllers and many adapted devices and toys. These outputs may be tied to any of the recorded messages. There are changeable inlays for labeling each key and messages can be rerecorded at any time. Three models are available. ACTV-1 has up to 10 messages in one level for 1 minute total recording time. ACTV-1 has the same features with twice the recording time for up to two minutes of messages. ACTV-2A has 120 seconds total with either 10 messages on one level or 18 messages in two levels. This model also features auditory scanning where a brief prompting message is played for each of the recorded messaged until the user chooses the message to be played by pressing the switch. OPTIONS: A Pillow Speaker System for private auditory prompting and a keyguard are available. POWER: 9 volt battery or AC adapter. DIMENSIONS: 7.5 x 4 x 1.3 inches. WEIGHT: Approximately 13 ounces.
