« Previous Product Next Product »The Compartmentalized Communicator is a direct selection communication training aid designed for individuals with physical, communication, or developmental disabilities. The unit consists of a row of switches, each in its own compartment with room for an object, word or picture (not included). Various models of the communicator are available with two to five sections, each with a different colored switch. By pressing down on the appropriate colored switch plate in front of an item, a sound is produced and/or a light is lit, thus communicating an idea or need. Each of the compartment switches produces a different sound, a light, or sound and light together. Models 1243, 1253, and 1239 offer speech and lights, enabling a message to be recorded for each compartment (up to 20 seconds of total recording time). Models are available with switch jacks for use with external switches. POWER: 4 C batteries. DIMENSIONS: Models 1242, 1252, 1238, and 1272 have .25-inch jacks. Models 1242-8, 1252-8, 1238-8, and 1272-8 have 1/8-inch jacks. POWER: 4 "C" batteries.
