--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 06/2006) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Tel-Ease is an amplifier telephone with large push buttons designed for use by persons with hearing disabilities and/or low vision. A thumbwheel controls the volume of a caller's voice in stepless adjustments up to 10 times the standard telephone level (20 decibels maximum). This amplification only enhances the caller's voice; background noise is suppressed. The ringer loudness adjusts from off to low to high, and a tone control sets the ringer in a audible range selected by the user. A red indicator light also flashes with each ring to visually signal an incoming call. This hearing-aid compatible phone also features an audio jack, a recall key for 10-number memory, a last-number redial key, and a store-pulse-tone switch for pre-setting one-number calling and adapting the phone to local central office equipment. The keypad features large numbers, and braille coding makes key 5 a reference point. Tel-Ease with Backtalk offers the same features plus a digital speech synthesizer that speaks back the numbers as they are dialed. INSTALLATION: The Tel-Ease is designed for free-standing installation on a desk, countertop, or table; or for wall-mounting with or without an RJ-11W jack. DIMENSIONS: The numbers are one-inch tall. COLOR: White console with black numbers on white background. WARRANTY: Two years.
