Build 1 is a control switch training program designed for use with children with physical and cognitive disabilities. Accessible with a mouse or IntelliKeys (see separate entry), the program teaches the use of a single switch while introducing the concept of sequencing. The program presents familiar scenes missing key elements; the click of the switch adds a new element. When the task is successfully completed, the user is rewarded with an animated sequence. The program offers multiple settings that allow users to practice at their own pace and level of difficulty and settings can be saved and loaded for later use. The program graphics can be printed to create activity cards.COMPATIBILITY: Versions are available for use on Macintosh Systems and on IBM and compatible computers equipped with Windows. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: The Macintosh version requires an LCIII or better, hard drive, System 7 or higher, a color monitor, and 8 megabytes (MB) RAM. The Windows version requires Windows 3.1 or Windows95, a Windows-compatible sound card and speakers, a SVGA monitor, and 8 MB RAM.
