(Verified 02/2010) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Ace Reporter is a reading tutorial and story reading program designed designed to teach reading for the main idea and reading for details with children and adults with learning disabilities. In their quest to become an ace reporter, players uncover the who, what, when, where and why needed to write a newspaper article. Information is gathered from teletypes, phone interviews and reporter's notes. The "editor" reviews articles and lets the reporter know if all the information has been covered. The challenge upgrade offers the options of setting levels of difficulty and also a time limit. The software is available on both 5.25 and 3.5 inch disks for Apple and MS-DOS computers and 3.5 inch disks for Macintosh systems. COMPATIBILITY: For use on Apple, MS-DOS and Macintosh computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Memory requirements are 48K for Apple computers, 128K for MS-DOS computers and 1M and 2M respectively for Macintosh black and white and color systems. OPTIONS: The package is available in Spanish versions for MS-DOS and Macintosh systems, and is compatible with regular and Spanish keyboards. WARRANTY/GUARANTEE: If not fully satisfied, return software within 30 days (in resaleable condition) for full refund. Return defective disk to Mindplay for replacement. Disks will be replaced free for 90 days, thereafter, for a handling free of only $10.
