Sammy's Science House is an academic tutorial program designed to build early science skills for children with physical or cognitive disabilities. The program is designed to develop important skills and thought processes for scientific learning including sorting, sequencing, and problem solving. Students will expand their science vocabulary as they learn about plants, animals, seasons and weather. They also observe, classify, construct, compare, and experiment. All directions are graphical or spoken in clear, friendly voices for pre-readers. This progam includes built in scanning for single switch users and is TouchWindow accessible (see separate entry). It is available on diskette or CD-ROM. COMPATIBILITY: For use on Macintosh SE or later, or IBM/Tandy or compatibles. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Macintosh requires 3.5 inch high-density floppy drive; hard disk; System 6.0.7 or higher. For System 6.0.x, 1 MB for black and white, 2 MB for color. For System 7.0 or higher, 2 MB for black and white, 4 MB for color. CD-ROM version requires CD-ROM Drive; 4 MB RAM; System 6.0.7 or higher; hard disk. IBM/compatible requires MS-DOS 3.1 or later; VGA or EGA; 560 K; hard disk; mouse; 3.5 inch high-density floppy disk; third-party sound-output device or card (with external speaker). Supports Sound Blaster (see separate entry) and compatibles, and most popular sound-output devices. CD-ROM version requires CD-ROM drive; 2 MB XMS memory recommended. Optional for IBM is Windows 3.1 or later. Optional for both systems are TouchWindow and microphone. OPTIONS: Overlays are available for IntelliKeys or Ke:nx (see separate entries).
