The Community Helpers Thematic Activity Module is an independent living skills tutorial and language training system designed to teach students functioning at the Kindergarten through second grade levels to identify the jobs and duties of persons they encounter in the community, such as firefighters, police officers, and doctors. Health and safety issues are also discussed. The system utilizes a magnetized display board and metallic-backed visuals to illustrate concepts and encourage interactive learning. The module includes a self-standing magnetized display board, metallic-backed visuals, a vinyl storage pocket, a teacher's guide of activities suitable for varying levels of language proficiency, a picture dictionary of key words related to the theme, trade books, an audiotape for independent learning, and an erasable marker. Model 2842-7 is an English Language edition and model 2834-5 is a Spanish Language edition. OPTIONS: Small and large carrying cases, easel, folding board with stand, number and letter visual overlay kit, and others. DIMENSIONS: The display board is 15.5 x 22 inches.
