The Lexia Quick Reading Test is a reading evaluation program designed for use with children with dyslexia and other learning disabilities. This program pinpoints strengths and weaknesses in word decoding skills and facilitates early detection of decoding gaps and weaknesses. The program offers Real Word Testing and Pseudo Word Testing. Real Word Testing is appropriate for young students and those with limited sight vocabularies. Pseudo Word Testing is appropriate for older students and those with well-established sight vocabularies. Both formats offer two tests per level and support re-testing over time. Both formats utilize automatic branching to explore weaknesses in detail. Assess level A tests letter names, short and long vowel silent "e" words, consonant blends and digraphs, vowel combination words, vowel -r combination words, multisyllable words, and sight words for grades one and two. Assess level B tests suffixes, vowel combination words, open and closed first syllable words, words with "le" paired with a consonant (i.e., candle, stable), the two sounds of "c" and "g," three syllable words, and sight words for grades three and four. Assess level C tests Anglo Saxon prefixes and suffixes; Latin prefixes and suffixes; accent patterns; pronunciation of "ti," "si," and "ci"; connectives "u" and "i"; ligatured "du," "tu," and "su"; and Greek combined forms. The program also offers three report types: Individual (graphic and tabular), class (tabular), and comparison (tabular). COMPATIBILITY: Versions are available for use on Macintosh and IBM and compatible computers.
