--- DISCONTINUED (verified 07/93) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE --- Zinco Knee Stabilizer is a sports knee orthosis. Lightweight, simple in design and includes several features that will provide support and protection for individuals engaging in a variety of strenuous sports activities. Total contact thigh and calf bands are the foundation for brace attachment. Constructed from flexible low density polyethylene and covered, on the inside with a cushioned plastizote liner. Elastic gum rubber straps which encircle both bands secure the brace to the leg and create a frictional coupling with the skin to provide excellent rotational control. Slightly longer than most other orthoses, the Zinco Knee Stabilizer creates maximum leverage for knee protection. A unique medial femoral condyle pad in combination with a calf cuff help to provide excellent medial/lateral stability. In addition, 2 one inch elastic straps, positioned both above and below the patella, help to control recurvatum and anterior drawing. The straps also aid in suspension, eliminating the possibility of brace distal migration while the patient engages in strenuous activities. Available prefabricated in four sizes left and right, and may be ordered with free knee joints or adjustable knee joints.
