--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 10/2007) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- TextGrabber is a telecaption decoder designed to create word-for-word transcript of most televisison programs for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. TextGrabber works on the same concept as that used to provide closed captioning on screen. However, instead of printing it on a television screen, TextGrabber converts it to a standard ASCII file which can then be transferred to a computer. The conversion and transfer process is performed in real time, allowing text to be viewed on the computer screen as fast as it is spoken in the broadcast. This is ideal for individuals with low vision who may have difficulty reading the print onthe television screen. COMPATIBILITY: TextGrabber is compatible with any computer that supports a RS-232 interface and a standard terminal or communications program.
