The Wheelchair Gym is a progressive resistive arm exerciser designed to provide upper extremity exercise for people with mobility disabilities who use a wheelchair. Wheelchair users may access this exercise machine since a wheelchair fits within the U-shaped base, which has a rubber mat to help the wheelchair stay in place. The user grips the upper end of two arms extending from the base, moves them up and forward. The circular grips at the top of the arms can be rotated to four positions to fit the needs of the user, and rubber balls are mounted on the grips to aid the user to grasp the arm. The starting position of the arms is also adjustable. Hydraulic cylinders provide resistance to the movement of arms forward and backward. The system is inertia-free and provides eight levels of resistance. The bilateral design allows each side of the body to work independently. The frame, arms, hand grips and cylinder covers are made of stainless steel; other parts are non-corrosive materials. There are wheels at the rear of the frame to facilitate movement of the entire device. DIMENSIONS (LxW): 38.5 x 35.5 inches. The arm height adjusts from 33 to 41 inches in 1-inch increments. WEIGHT: 48 pounds. WARRANTY: 5-year limited warranty for residential use; 2-year limited warranty for non-residential use.
