The Superarm Lift 2000 is a steel van lift designed without a platform for use with manual and powered wheelchairs, or scooters (with optional harness attachments). Instead of a platform, the wheelchair and its occupant are raised or lowered by means of a pivoting arm. The lift is designed to work without modification to the vehicle and without obstructing the doorway to other passengers. The wheelchair tips backwards for occupant's head clearance through the van door. Operation toggle switches are located on the lift arm. SAFETY FEATURES: The lift can be stopped in any position. Safety limit switches are installed for arm adjustment at curbs and for head clearance through the door of the van. The lift cannot be operated when the van door is closed. A manual crankdown motor is standard in the event of emergencies. MOUNTING: The lift attaches to the inside wall for use on the side door of the van and the arm is positioned at a 90-degree angle across the top of the doorway. Permanently attached nylon webbing straps or temporary visitor hookup attach to the occupied wheelchair to lift the chair into the vehicle. Installing the lift requires no modification to vehicle. Approximately 2 to 3 hours are required for installation by a qualified installer. The lift has no hydraulics or battery, so it is easily maintained in temperature extremes. It is electrically powered by the vehicle's battery, and has a low amp, half horsepower motor drive gear operating the arm of the lift. OPTIONS: Extra webbing harness, three-wheel scooter harness, visitor chair hook-up, and custom harnesses are available; all for under $40. DIMENSIONS: Arm of lift is 6 inches wide and 49 inches long. Stores in an area 6 inches wide. CAPACITY: Lift has a 600 pound load capacity. WARRANTY: 3-year warranty; 5-year limited warranty.
