The Tuffy Deluxe Wide Recliner 497 is a manual reclining wheelchair with a manual reclining back designed for use by large adults with lower extremity, mobility, or neurological disabilities or spinal cord injury. In addition to the standard 497E model, this wheelchair comes in a wide (XE) version. FRAME (HxLxW): 42 (with seat back upright) x 50.5 x 30 or 32 inches. Folded dimensions (LxW) are 37 x 12 inches. The folding frame comes standard with double cross bar construction and reinforcement welds to strengthen the design. Anti-tippers and an anti-folding device are optional. SEAT (LxWxH): 19 x 22 or 24 x 20 inches. A 33-inch high back is standard. The seat back reclines from 90 to 180 degrees with the aid of hydraulic assist cylinders. A seatbelt and headrest extension are optional. UPHOLSTERY: Dark blue sling upholstery of padded double-embossed, flame-retardant vinyl. ARMRESTS: Removable desk- length padded armrests are standard. BRAKES: Adjustable toggle wheel locks are standard. Wheel lock extension tubes are optional. CASTERS: 8 x 1.75 inch casters with pneumonic airless tires. WHEELS: 24 x 1.375 inch rear molded wheels with pneumonic airless tires are standard. Pneumatic tires are optional. Composite handrims are standard; projection handrims are optional. FOOTRESTS: Cam-action swing-away detachable footrests and padded elevating legrests are standard. The front riggings extend from 16 to 21 inches. Leg straps and an anti-theft lock for front riggings are optional. OPTIONS: Anti-theft bar; wheelchair tray; IV rod attachment; and oxygen tank holder. CAPACITY: 370 pounds (model 497E) or 400 pounds (model 497XE). WEIGHT: 56 pounds (model 497E) or 58 pounds (model 497XE).
