The ASL Fiber Optic Sensor with Mono Port, model ASL202_M, is a sensor switch designed for use by individuals with mobility, communication, or severe physical disabilities. This single function switch has an adjustable activation range from touch to 2.5 inches, with a round target area. This fiber optic switch can be programmed for either normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) operation. In the NO mode, switch activation occurs when an object is detected in the adjusted range. In the NC mode, switch activation occurs when an object is no longer detected in the adjusted range. This is a near switch which can be used as a passive "kill" switch on sip & puff systems, a reset switch on chin control systems, an access switch for augmentative communication devices, and a control switch for computer access using Morse code and single switch scan. This switch can be used with any power chair type; it requires the addition of an appropriate ASL 804 power source cable to receive power from the power wheelchair. The fiber optic switch comes with an interface box with distance dial, a fiber optic cutter, a 12 or 24 volt power connector, and a mono port connector. OPTIONS: Replacement mount for attaching the sip and puff and a stealth fiber optic mount for headrest. DIMENSIONS: The target area is 0.25 inch in diameter.
