The California Chariot is a leg-propelled three wheel cycle designed for use by children ages six years of age and older with lower extremity disabilities. This cycle combines the movement of cycling with the propulsion of a skateboard, enabling use by children unable to perforn the rotational motion of pedaling. This cycle has a single front wheel, handle bars, and hand brakes similar to those found on a standard bicycle. Rather than sitting, the user stands with one foot on each of two skateboard-style platforms, each fitted with a single small urethane wheel. The cycle is propelled by pushing off with one foot and gliding. FRAME: Bicycle syle front frame and platform supports of Hi-Ten steel with chromolloy inserts. DIMENSIONS: The front wheel is 16 inches in diameter and the rear wheels are 78 millimeters in diameter. WEIGHT: 24 pounds. COLOR: The frame is available in a choice of black, blue, silver, green, pink, purple, red, or yellow.
