Quick Glance 2 is an eye-controlled input system designed for use by individuals with upper extremity amputation or disabilities, severe physical or neurological disabilities, or spinal cord injury. This mouse replacement device allows the user to place a mouse pointer anywhere on a computer screen by looking at the desired location. The user's eye must be kept in the camera's field of view, a range of about 10 by 10 or 6 by 6 centimeters, depending on the model selected. Clicking can be accomplished with an eye blink, a hardware switch, or by staring (dwelling). The system includes a tracking module featuring a high-resolution digital camera or digital camera with strobe, mounting brackets, computer stand or carrying case, and software that runs in the background while the user is working with standard Windows applications. When the system is combined with an on-screen keyboard, the user can communicate with text or speech output. Various options for emulating mouse functions give the user complete accessibility to all Windows features including right clicking, dragging, and double clicking. This system is available with or without a desktop or laptop computer. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible desktop or laptop computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Pentium 800 MegaHertz (MHz) processor; one available 1394 (FireWire) port; Windows 98 or Windows XP; 128 megabytes (MB) random access memory (RAM); 10 megabytes (MB) disk space for installation.
