(Verified 4/2001) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Stories and Strategies for Communication (SSC) is a Minspeak Application Program (MAP) and a behavior training and language tutorial prgram designed to stress learning through play for individuals with a cognitive disability. SSC is based on a holistic, child centered approach that uses the classsics in literature to enhance interactive communication, interactions in a social context, and emergent liiteracy skills. It uses stories because of their inherent richness of language concepts and social rules.
