Picture of GENTLEMOUSE 2.0 GentleMouse 2.0 is a mouse emulator program designed for use by individuals with carpal tunnel syndrome or other repetitive stress injuries, arthritis, or upper extremity or neurological disabilities. When the user pauses the mouse cursor to click, GentleMouse briefly displays a small, see-through window called a Trigger Window. To click, the user moves and pauses the cursor over the Trigger Window and a click is simulated. Each mouse action—-click, double-click, right-click, drag, scroll, etc.--has its own Trigger Window. This software is compatible with most pointing devices such as ergonomic or standard computer mice, trackballs, and touch pads as well as head-tracking devices. This customizable software enables the user to choose the number of Trigger Windows to use and to customize each window with a mouse or keyboard action. Many common commands such as cut, copy, paste, enter, etc., can be performed just by moving over the corresponding customized Trigger Window. The window size, transparency, background image and more can also be changed. In addition, an adjustable Hover Zone allows users to define sensitivity to cursor movement, making the program accessible to people with hand shaking or tremors.
