--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 4/2000) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Macrat is a mouse emulating device for the Apple IIGS and Macintosh computers. The device consists of twelve 1.5-inch membrane keys. Eight of these keys are labeled with arrows pointing up, down, left, right, and towards the four diagonal directions. When one of these keys is pressed, the mouse pointer moves in the corresponding direction on the screen until the key is released. The rate of pointer movement is adjustable from the computer's keyboard. The rest of the keys emulate standard mouse functions (click, drag, and unlock), and turn the Macrat on and off. Macrat comes with a clear plastic cover and is waterproof. A keyguard (optional) is available for $50.00. The device requires use of Easy Access (see entry), which is included as a standard part of Apple IIGS and Macintosh system software. Macrat plugs directly into any Apple Desktop Bus (ADB) port and comes with an eight-foot cord. COMPATIBILITY: For use on Apple IIGS and Apple Macintosh computers. DIMENSIONS: 9 x 9 x 1 inches.
