RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. -- The Aloud Digital Audio Labeling System is a voice output medication label reader system designed for use by persons who are blind or have low vision. The Aloud system consists of the Aloud recorder, which is used by pharmacists to produce an audio version of a printed prescription label, called the audio label, which is attached to the medication container; and the Aloud player unit, which is used by users to listen to the audio labels on their medications. Audio labels can be replayed as often as needed. To listen, the user simply places the bottle into the Aloud player unit and presses downward. An auto-reset feature ensures complete message playback. The player unit is lightweight and portable, suitable for travel as well as home use. High-fidelity audio ensures clear message reproduction. Eaarphones for private listening are included. POWER: The player unit uses a rechargeable battery and includes a low-battery indicator.
