-------- PROTOTYPE --------- PURPOSE: To design a prototype of a braille overlay card for a debit/credit card reader to be used by individuals who are blind or have low vision. Designer Kyle Lectenberg, an industrial Design graduate student from Auburn University, created a prototype Visual Assistance Card that lies on top of the debit/credit card reader. By using the Braille imprinted on the card, the user is able to enter his or her personal information rather than having the store clerk enter that private information. The Visual Assistance Card is lightweight and can be easily stored. TITLE: The Visual Assistance Card. WEBSITE: Yanko Design. REF: http://www.yankodesign.com/2008/08/28/the-visual-assistance-card.
