--- DO IT YOURSELF ENTRY --- PURPOSE: To support the head of a boy with Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy whose neck muscles are too weak to support his head in a shower chair. A "standard" shower chair was modified by adding a head support made from plastic pipe and lawn chair webbing. The pipe was fitted into an elongated inverted U shape (approximately 6 inches wide and height as needed) and bolted to the back
of the shower seat. A piece of lawn chair webbing was looped across the sides of the inverted U shape to create a headrest. The webbing was fastened to the plastic pipe using a single sheet metal screw at each end of the piece of webbing. TITLE: The Modified Shower Chair.
