(Verified 9/2011) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Personal Emergency Reporting System, Model PERS-2400A, is an emergency alert or fire alarm system designed for use by seniors or individuals with disabilities at risk for medical emergencies. The system includes a table-top or wall-mounted console with a large EMERGENCY button on its face. The emergency alarm can be triggered by pressing the emergency button or with a wireless transmitter. The fire alarm can be triggered by wireless smoke alarms. The console can receive signals from up to 16 Linear wireless transmitters. Activating the alarm causes the console’s digital communicator to send the appropriate alarm report to a central monitoring station via the standard telephone network. In addition to the central station report, audible and visual indications occur. Each button on the console is molded with braille characters to identify emergency, home, and clear functions. Other features include a delayed, silent alarm; inactivity reporting after 8, 12, or 24 hours; and distinct alarm tones for emergency and fire alarm conditions. The system is installed and programmed with Linear’s RA-2400 remote access software. OPTIONS: VB4 voice board for speakerphone capability; 1-, 2-, or 3-button transmitters in key ring, pendant, handheld, or wristwatch/ pendant styles. POWER: Uses household current or 12-volt backup battery. DIMENSIONS (HxLxW): 3 x 8.75 x 3 x 7.5 inches. WEIGHT: 3 pounds.
