Picture of AIRVOTER (MODEL AC-0300-AV1V2) The AirVoter, model AC-0300-AV1V2, is a pneumatic (sip and puff) voting machine control designed for use by voters with upper extremity disabilities or amputation, neurological or severe physical disabilities, spinal cord injury, or cerebral palsy. This system allows the user to vote independently on an accessible voting machine through sips or puffs on a disposable mouthpiece in time with visible or headphone-audible cues. After a voter has completed a ballot, the mouthpiece is discarded and the system is available for the next voter. The disposable mouthpiece has an in-line aseptic filter that prevents fluids from being deposited in the reusable tubing to enable hygienic voting by a succession of voters. The mouthpiece is connected by pneumatic tube to a small switch enclosure that converts sips and puffs into electrical signals. This enclosure then connects to the voting machine through a single stereo cable or a USB switch interface. The system includes two sealed mouthpiece assemblies, each with latex-free gloves and instruction sheet; an adjustable padded headset; an air tube with connectors; the sip-puff switchbox with integrated push-buttons for testing purposes; and a cable connection to voting machine. For storage and transport, the system comes in a compact portable case resembling a briefcase with handle and snap closures. OPTIONS: Swifty USB Switch Interface for accessible voting machines that require a USB connection for switches. DIMENSIONS: Air tube is 6 feet long. WEIGHT: 6 pounds (including case).
