Deque UnDoc is accessible document software designed to make Portable Document Files (PDF) accessible to individuals with vision and reading disabilities. This software tool repurposes PDF documents into well-structured HTML and XML so that it can be made accessible for people with disabilities. Deque UnDoc is accessible with JAWS For Windows (see entry) and transforms embedded images into appropriate formats, such as EPS, TIF, PSD or JPEG, GIF, and PNG. This software supports tagged and untagged PDFs. Its output can be made fully accessible with Ramp Ascend (see separate entry). COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers running Windows 2000 or higher, Macintosh computers using OS X, or Linux or Unix. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP, Macintosh OS X, Pentium III processor with 800 megaHertz (MHz) or faster with Pentium 4 at 1.3 gigaHertz (GHz) or faster recommended or PowerPC G3 or faster for Macintosh. Linux systems require kernel 2.4+ with glibc2.11+.
