Picture of VASTTX - KEY WORDS VASTtx – Key Words is a speech training program and an oral motor skills training program designed for use by people with speech or communication disabilities, autism or apraxia and by occupational and speech therapists working with people with these disabilities. This application (or app) allows a person to use their Apple iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad to learn and practice the basic motor speech patterns necessary to produce all of the consonant phonemes. The user can see close-up VAST videos of a model's mouth movements while listening to the auditory stimulus. The user can also see the movement while hearing the sound by itself, then in a key word and finally in a phrase. The app's structured playlist samples provide lists of sound grouped by "family" and samples for contrastive practice. Other features include randomized practice to challenge the motor speech system and customized playlists tailored to the user's needs. COMPATIBILITY: For use with the Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Apple iOS 3.1.3 or later.
