Leaps and Bounds 1 is a pre-reading tutorial program designed for use by pre-school children with learning disabilities. Colorful characters in six text-free activities help stimulate imagination and develop pre-reading skills. Children improve hand-eye coordination as they manipulate the mouse and target items as they pop up in surprising places. Left-to-right tracking prepares children for beginning reading. Stimulating movements and sounds aid in improving auditory and visual discrimination. Prediction, concentration and memory skills are also developed as children click to hear animal sounds, stimulate actions, make a tune, uncover clues, and match animated characters in pairs. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible or Macintosh computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: The IBM and compatible version requires a P-133 processor, 32 megabytes (MB) RAM, Windows 95 or higher, CD-ROM drive, and a 640 x 480 256-color monitor. The Macintosh version requires a 68040 or better processor, Operating System 7.1 or higher, 8 MB RAM, a CD-ROM drive, a 800 x 600 256-color monitor.
