IBM Software: New Product for Older Users

By Ability Magazine [USA],
Publication Date: 2006

Article discusses examples of IBM software designed for people with disabilities. WebAdapt2Me is a program that alters websites to fit the needs of people with visual or motor disabilities. Users can change text size and style, alter the color of text, magnify information on pages, and change line spacing. The package also includes keyboard modifications for people who have difficulty typing due to stroke, arthritis, or mobility disabilities. The program samples the user’s typing in order to detect errors, and adjusts the keyboard sensitivity to accommodate different typing styles. Interested parties are encouraged to visit IBM’s accessibility website for more information (http://www.ibm.com/ibm/accessibility/us).
