iComm is a direct selection and symbolic communicator program designed for use by pre-speech toddlers or children with communication or speech disabilities or autism. This program enables an Apple iPhone to function as an alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) system for children who have trouble communicating. The program uses words (both written and spoken) and personalized pictures as a means of communication. The program organizes pictures and their descriptions into nine categories, and pictures can be added, edited or changed as the user's needs, tastes and learning levels change. The program includes pictures necessary for simple everyday communication, such as "yes," "no," "more" and "finished." The user confirms all choices with a yes/no screen for more accuracy of communication. The user is also allowed to add his or her own pictures to heighten engagement. OPTION: An upgrade with additional audio files, 11 more categories and additional storage frames is available for $7.99. COMPATIBILITY: For use with the Apple iPhone.
