  1. DEQUE RAMP ASCEND

    Deque Ramp Ascend is a Web site accessibility evaluation and repair tool designed to assist in making Web site accessible to individual with disabilities. This software checks sites for compliance against W3C-WCAG 1.0 and Section 508 standards. It combines robust algorithms with user input during the accessibility evaluation process. Users can configure the evaluation to suit an organization's accessibility policies and practices. Guided/automated remediation covers all violations including n-dimensional tables, forms, skip navigation, missing alt tags and SMIL captioning. It produces several reports for project supervisors and developers, including listings of individual violations as well as summaries across checkpoints/Section 508 rules. This software is accessible with JAWS For Windows (see entry) and has plug-ins for FrontPage, Dreamweaver and HomeSite.

    Deque Ramp Grade is Web site evaluation software designed to aid in making Web pages accessible to people with disabilities. This software checks for compliance with W3C-WCAG 1.0 and Section 508 standards. Users can configure the evaluation to suit an organization's accessibility policies and practices. The program produces reports for project supervisors and developers, such as listings of individual violations and summaries across checkpoints/ Section 508 rules.     Deque Ramp Personal Edition (PE) is Web site evaluation software designed to aid in making Web pages accessible to people with disabilities. This software offers a means of learning about accessibility and testing web pages for W3C WAI WCAG and Section 508 compliance one Web page at a time. This JAWS-accessible (see entry) tool has the same algorithms for evaluation as Ramp Ascend (see entry) and can generate reports as well. Evaluation can be configured to suit individual accessibility policies and practices. It has plug-ins for FrontPage, Dreamweaver and HomeSite. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers running For Windows 2000/XP, Macintosh computers using OS X, or Unix or Linux computers.

  4. DEQUE UNDOC FOR PDF

    Deque UnDoc is accessible document software designed to make Portable Document Files (PDF) accessible to individuals with vision and reading disabilities. This software tool repurposes PDF documents into well-structured HTML and XML so that it can be made accessible for people with disabilities. Deque UnDoc is accessible with JAWS For Windows (see entry) and transforms embedded images into appropriate formats, such as EPS, TIF, PSD or JPEG, GIF, and PNG. This software supports tagged and untagged PDFs. Its output can be made fully accessible with Ramp Ascend (see separate entry). COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers running Windows 2000 or higher, Macintosh computers using OS X, or Linux or Unix. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP, Macintosh OS X, Pentium III processor with 800 megaHertz (MHz) or faster with Pentium 4 at 1.3 gigaHertz (GHz) or faster recommended or PowerPC G3 or faster for Macintosh. Linux systems require kernel 2.4+ with glibc2.11+.
