  1. SENSIBLE PENCIL Picture of SENSIBLE PENCIL

    The Sensible Pencil is a writing skills training system designed for use by young children and children with neurological, learning, or cognitive disabilities. This handwriting program teaches upper and lowercase manuscript letters and numbers and can be used with individuals and/or small groups. Features include pre- and post-tests and 200 practice pages. Self-contained and ready to use, this program is an ungraded, individualized, direct instruction program. The 200 exercises provide step-by-step readiness activities that are the foundation of all writing skills. New tasks are gradually introduced while tasks already learned are continually reviewed to ensure success. Careful consideration is given to visual clues, prompts and letter size. Letters are clustered and presented on the basis of difficulty and similarity in formation. Model 4147P is the print edition only. The 327-page book includes worksheets for skills assessment, lines, shapes, lower-case and upper-case letters and numbers, a checklist of student progress and a skills assessment data sheet. The Instructor’s Guide contains step-by-step teaching instructions and classroom tips. Model 4147CD is the Sensible Pencil CD with materials in PDF (Portable Document Format). The CD allows user to browse, select, and print pages. Model 4147CDK is The Sensible Pencil CD Kit, which includes one each of models 4147P and 4147CD. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers and Macintosh computers.
