TILT-IN-SPACE CHAIR
--- CUSTOM ADAPTATION --- PURPOSE: To provide a child with global developmental delays and low muscle tone with appropriate seating and positioning. The chair is made of lightweight plywood and is angle-adjustable from upright to 45 degrees reclining using trinuts. This enables the user to sit upright for as long as can be tolerated and then recline as needed. The chair is equipped with a tray clamped to metal slides, making it adjustable in height and tilt, and enabling it to follow the angle of the chair. Tray features include a torso cutout and tipped edges to keep items from falling off. A height-adjustable footplate is attached to the tilting section of the chair and is equipped with footcups with Velcro straps to aid in proper positioning. The tilting part of the chair mounted on a removable base with casters. The chair attaches to the base with strong over-center case latches. The base was designed to fit under the family dining table. Without the base, the chair is at child's table height, enabling the child to participate in crafts and other activities with other children. DIMENSIONS: The base is 400 millimeters high.
