4talk4 is a direct selection communicator designed for use by individuals with communication disabilities. This device is specifically designed for use in the classroom where its clear speech and adjustable volume allow students to participate in classroom activities. It can be placed on a desk or a wheelchair tray, and can be fixed in place using M4 captive nuts placed in the base. This communicator has four large tactile switches, each with four levels of speech, giving a potential total of sixteen messages. The four buttons have plastic pockets allowing users to insert their own pictures to represent the messages. The total speech time is four minutes. This unit is programmed using voice input through a built-in microphone. The volume control can be adjusted from a whisper to a classroom-filling level. The unit includes a headphone jack for external headphones and up to four external switches can be connected to replace or augment the four built-in switches. Sockets also allow users to connect up to four battery-operated toys or devices. POWER: Uses four C batteries (included). OPTIONS: Voice control prompts are available in a number of languages besides English. DIMENSIONS (HxLxW): 9.4 x 12.7 x 33.3 centimeters. WEIGHT: 1 kilogram.
