--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 8/1999) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. ---The SilentRadio StenoText System is a large electronic display unit designed to provide the solution for communicating to audiences that may have hearing disabilities. The system is intended for use in courtrooms, auditoriums, churches, theatres, and classrooms. To function, it utilizes a steno machine with a PC connected to one or more LED (light emitting diode) display units; an operator types the spoken word translation into a stenographic machine which is designed to accept information at speeds of up to 250 words per minute; then, the conversation, in real time sychronization, is translated on to two 28-character lines which automatically scrolls onto the display unit.
