Recreation: Guidelines for Safe, Accessible Playgrounds

The article describes the guidelines established by the American Society of Testing and Materials for safe, accessible playgrounds. It describes materials and design specifications for accessible routes, ramps and transfer points, and playground equipment. There are suggestions for safety precautions, such as providing gates and adequate supervision, and ways to come together as a community to build an accessible playground.
